5 day smoothie challenge- day 3
Welcome to day 3 of the smoothie challenge!
Hopefully by now you are feeling more energized and enjoying the different flavour combinations of the smoothies.
Today’s refreshing recipe is meant to pack your body full of electrolytes while keeping you hydrated.
Yesterday I highlighted the nutritional benefits of every ingredient in the recipe. Today’s recipe is similar to yesterday’s with added celery and grapefruit.
Grapefruit – This sweet and tart fruit is full of vitamin C that helps strengthen the immune system to fight off disease. Grapefruit also boosts metabolism to aid in weight loss. The refreshing fruit is known to help relieve stress and help combat kidney stones.
Celery – Full of antioxidants, celery will help clean up any toxic overload that may be bombarding your body. Because it is high in antioxidants and water, celery will help combat headaches and stress. This crunchy veggie is also full of vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber.
The recipe:
2 cups coconut water
2 cups spinach
2 celery stalks
1/2 field cucumber
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 grapefruit
